Gorsh
UK cars are almost certainly the same specification so if they find faults the recall should happen worldwide.
CMA
I've just emailed my local OPC and got this reply: "I have checked your chassis and happy to confirm the recall is not applicable to your car."

That’s interesting, as your car falls into that date ranged Sept12-July14 does it not? We’ve had this before though haven’t we, where the USA seems to get special treatment over Europe/ROW, due, I expect, to the litigious nature of their society, and potential high cost of being found guilty of any negligence. They possibly think such costs are unlikely in ROW.

They possibly think such costs are unlikely in ROW. It's a 2013 car so I would guess it does. I imagine they have a recalls system, she's just popped my chassis number in that and it's come back with no recalls. Which would be right as this isn't a uk recall. But if it does go at any point I now have it in writing. I could have argued the point with her but I was having a busy work day so didn't bother

Hi and no all good comment, yes I double checked it. The VIN works fine on UK VIN checkers , just doesn't seem to know my car on that (presumably) US housed database. Angelus666
I bet if you were to have exported your UK car to the US, then it would be covered by the recall. It'll have exactly the same components.
Carmine
OK, cool. It recognises my UK VIN though - all a bit odd. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2021/RCLRPT-21V679-4936.PDF suggests production dates between Jan 8, 2013 - Jul 31, 2014 are affected. Works fine on UK VIN checkers. A mate had the same issue with theirs. I've pinged my local OPC.
iborguk
OPC said my VIN isn’t that of a reliant robin’s and that there are no recalls on my car. Seems to be an issue with some cars (at least 2) and that site I guess (and yes I am guessing) Edited September 16, 2021 by iborguk
Paul P
Both me and @iborguk have 987.2 both getting failure on the vin checker have all the people getting success with the Porsche recap vin checker got 981 or later. ? Not an issue as such since my con also checks out on multiple sources but just wondering if there is some convergence of the databases at some point. Davey P
That's weird, when I put my VIN number into the checker, it came back as "no action required", even though my car was first registered in March 2014... Reckon I might email my local OPC, just to be on the safe side.
