What have you had replaced under the OPC warranty or refused?

Its the condescending attitude they treat their customers with - I probably know more about the car than their "gold class" parts swap out person, yet the customer service idiot will still follow their script of BS and lies.

Can we add refused to acknowledge as a fault, despite pictures of the dash error - had to call Porsche assist to get car recovered before they would do anything...then wait two weeks for them to "diagnose" that the car, and customer were correct...then wait another week for parts to be ordered and fitted.

I had the same issue on my 718, involved the spoiler frame (the motor and mechanism) being replaced.

Ball park £800 part iirc (last year), replaced by the independent supplying dealer under their third party warranty.

Just out of curiosity if this wasn't covered by warranty would you fix it at your own expense or live with it?

I’d try and source the spoiler motor , which is part of the frame from a donor car/salvager. Ballpark £150-200.

That’s a bit of a pain. What were the issues with the PDK gearbox

Oil leak. An independent or specialist would have fixed it. Porsche position is any problem, replace whole gearbox.

Sadly more often than not that's the more cost effective option  :(

Ahh but you are doubtless rich in other ways

It does worry me sometimes that it is cheaper to buy a new appliance than replace a component/s.

When my belt tensioner bolt sheared, the initial response was the warranty would not  cover it, as the belt and tensioner was a specific excluded item.

I was prepared to take them to task on it the Glasgow OPC service department quickly managed to Put things right and get the labour through as goodwill and I had to cover the parts costs, which was in the low £100’s

i was fearing the worst that the work would require an engine out job to get access to remove the broken tensioner bolt, but they were able to get it out with the engine in situ.

Maybe it's a separate topic but I wondered if there were similar good/bad stories for non-OPC warranties.

Vested interest as I don't have a warranty on mine, it fell out of warranty with the previous owner and as it would cost an unnecessary amount just to "tick the boxes" (i.e. re-service an already serviced car) to allow it to have the warranty an aftermarket one is the realistic option.  Or just wing it and stash some cash.

Just got a replacement half of my PSE approved for replacement by Porsche. As a bit of a bonus, I'm getting a 4.0 GTS to use for a couple of days.

Two days to explore the highlands? That's a mission.

Not quite the highlands, but I'm off to Oulton Park as my son is shaking down the BMW M4 GT4 that he's racing in British GT this year... ;)  Still a 300 mile round trip, might go the scenic route.
