This article has been doing the round on Facebook and am wondering how serious it is. Planning a scotland road trip in the 981 right now!

Pretty sure there's already a thread running on this.

    Edit:US recall

    Afternoon all.

Looking at the front anti roll bar bushes is confusing me as there are many different sizes for the 987 boxster .

Mine is a 2006 2.7 manual with normal; (non sports / PASM) suspension

From what I can gather i need the 19.9mm variety but wondered if anyone can shine a light on this?

    Many thanks

Easiest way to be sure is to phone nearest OPC and buy from them. That's what I did and no more expensive than elsewhere, especially with 10%PCGB discount. And they usually post out for free.

Recently bought a 2006 Boxster 987 and whilst it's tidy there's a few bits I'm starting to sort out.  I've noticed the front fog lights don't work (rear are fine), no error thrown on dash, and same for the frunk courtesy light.  I've done some reading around and it sounds like the Front End Control Module which controls both of these might have gone / be going bad.  Looks like I can pick up a replacement for about £60 on ebay, apparently it needs coding though.  My questions are: has anyone got any experience of using a diagnostic tool to do this, I was going to get a iCarSoft one anyway but I can't seem to find much info on which tools can / can't do this.  Alternatively, am I likely to find a porsche specialist who can sort this or am I going to have to pucker up and go to main dealer?

    Any thoughts / tips welcome.

    Cheers

Probably a good idea to post your location. There may be someone close to you who has a diagnostic  tool and would be willing to check it for you.  If you do have to buy a new module then a good Porsche indy shoukd be abke to code it for you. Again, your location will help with recommendations.

  4. I think BBB has probably hit on the cause above. It does look like the surface has been distorted and there may be some resulting leather shrinkage. You could try the softener as per discussion on previous thread but I'm not confident it will help much. As suggested by 1/2cwt getting the right leather to replace it is likely to prove difficult. The perforation pattern is a major obstacle, the difference in appearance between 20 year old and new leather, the degree of surface coating but even the colour could be problematic - there are loads of shades of Black, Blue toned, Red toned etc etc. It's got to be worth a go treating it yourself first but then you probably need a trimmer to have a close look and see whether they can help.

Did the 987 have black calipers as standard? I thought they were the dark anodised grey same as the 986, but I may be wrong.

No, you're correct Bob. That's why i haven't painted mine- impossible to replicate the look and finish.

The front to back pipes are done so just like my for the front ones now. I know some of you have done them so any tips on where to get a good deal on them?

I did a bit of research a couple of months back and from what others said OPC was cheapest (especially after 10% PCGB discount). If you look on Design911 I think you'll find the full set with part no's.
