Anyone any experience of changing a seat belt please.
There are more videos if you put in '987 seat belt'.

For anyone who hasn't seen it here's an excellent video on how to DIY this. Also good for understanding the general lay out.

My 987.2 2.9 has coolant leak from rubber hose I have been quoted £1250 for complete hose replacement subframe off from a Indy I am in Hampshire willing to travel to get it done any one had it done recently at more like £800 mark thanks
Haven't had it done myself but I would give Marque 21 in Bridport (Dorset)and Cotswold Porsche a call to check prices. I (and many other Dorset Porsche owners) can highly recommend the former whilst the latter is used by many on here and is also highly recommended.
See also recent thread (there are more if you search)Yawn l know but my crossover pipes replacing yes or no

I used Miller's, having seen various recommendations on here. Didn't make any difference whatsoever but at least I knew it had finally been changed after 15 years!

As I had alot of chips in front of the standard protectors I made my own, larger replacements a couple of years ago. Having made a template I just bought a large PPF offcut from Ebay and a £1 'squeegee' (plastic applicator with felt edge). Went on relatively easily with plenty of liquid.

I'd be really interested to know what everyone else is doing to get under their car safely
I did all my front suspension work and a transmission oil change last year with the front end on axle stands and rear on ramps. Given that the whole side of the car lifts when you jack the rear it's easy to position the stands under the front jacking points and put ramps under the rear wheels. Here's a link to ramps https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264356723653?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Ama2eEAzSAe&sssrc=0&ssuid=l1_-7vdvTGy&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Have also had my Octavia on the ramps.

looking for views about heater performance on base. 987.1. Should I be able use climate control with roof off? Could there be some issue with temp sensor? If so, seems there are two, which to look at? All comments appreciated.
I have climate control on my 2.7, often drive roof down in cold weather, and the heating is roasting - usually have it up around 26 initially and then have to turn it down.

Hi all, just been in the garage attempting to put the strut back together but my spring compressors won't compressor the spring enough. Those that have done this kind of job before what type of Compressor do you use?
Just wondering if its worth forking out for a hydraulic one.
Thanks
I had this issue on a set of new B4s with new oem springs. Had to take them to my local indie who likewise had a nightmare - took 2 guys over an hour using brute force, standard compressors and a set of borrowed heavy duty ones for them to sort it out. There's a thread with details - I recall somebody else had to make up a special tool with long levers to get his done.
Edit: here's the thread
-
They look pretty much like mine. My indie didn't reckon it was urgent and just put some waxoyl on the joints and i have since repeated the treatment myself (from a spray can it goes on like a foam which supposedly works its way into the joints). I'm figuring that I'll leave it until there's a definite, obvious leak and then I'll do it myself.

Hi in the summer I put the roof down in my Boxter, I didn’t know about the Boxter chop, and I have a small Kink in my rear window. I tried the hairdryer but no use. Any other tips please.
Lots of stuff on Google if you put in 'kink in plastic rear screen'. Here's one - part way down somebody recommends heated water:

No, just the fronts.

Davey,
Thanks for the photo, that looks great on the car. I thought the ones on the 987 were a single piece, convering the fins on thre intake.
Might have to call them to check.
Thanks all great help and forum.
James
Tne Zunsports on the 987 sit over the fins, held in by 3 or 4 clips. Very easy to fit. Note if you decide to go that way use code PC092015 for 20% discount.
Edit: here's a pic; should help if you zoom in (note the Zunsport badge is optional)

Hi This is my first Boxster 2007 987. Handbrake gaiter worn and scruffy. Anyone know of good place for replacement or repair. Thanks
Probably Royal Steering Wheels, Dave the Trimmer etc IF they have the right colour. Alternatively one of the breakers e.g. Douglas Valley(Steve Strange), 9apart, Prestige, Status Porsche etc etc (Google Porsche breakers). Or buy some dye/finish from Bespoke Leathering (of Car SOS fame).
And, having asked as a guest, why not join BoXa and enjoy the wealth of other info and help available from the 'community'.

I'm with @Topbox and @Mattman42, especially having seen Matt's former 987 in the flesh. Black over red is such a good combination.
Wonder whether the the BE is on @Jonttt's list?

As a result of a post on another thread my car is surrounded by cotton wool soaked in peppermint oil on jamjar lids. Also plenty of bait stations and lids with other types of bait around the garage. Found a dead mouse and bait crumbs last year in a nest behind my spare wheels.

Just came across another video. Based on a 997 but same set up for Boxster. Useful in showing general lay out and how the pipes connect to the subframe, especially the plastic clips

haven't heard of people discussing aftermarket parts for these, it would be nice to know if there are any.
I've searched pretty extensively in the recent past and not found anything.

I had forgotton the VAT!

I liked the look of this, but as I'm tight, after much research bought what I think is exactly the same item from Ebay for £8.99.
Ordered Sunday and delivered today by Yodel. Can confirm it is as described i.e. sturdyish carpet type material as opposed to many similar versions made from floppy felt. Missing the rear velcro strip shown the photos though.
Have also ordered an iron-on/sew-on badge for £5.80
Larger than the one shown in the first post above and Black/Silver rather than colour but should look good.

OPC have given 10%, parts cost is now £454.69
Wow, still alot. Presumably that includes some of the side/rear pipes.

Hello all, the dreaded leaky front crossover pipe job has risen it's ugly head on my S. Where is the best place to buy these please - my local OPC doesn't do TIPEC discount.
You may well still find the OPC cheaper. I checked the other day and Design911 sell kit for £400 whereas in the video I posted a couple of days ago the guy listed what he bought, totalling approx £300 from an OPC in late 2021. Best option is to check exactly which bits you need, get pricing from OPC and ask nicely whether any discount - some people have had favourable response even without being PCGB members.

For anybody looking to do their crossover pipes there's a recent video, complete with part no's on Youtube. Haven't watched it all yet but looks useful and together with written instructions from one of the PCGB forums makes me feel more confident of tackling mine which looks likely to be necessary in the near future.

Wheels
in 987
Posted
Reckon somebody has changed the wheels at some point. I haven't seen your wheels on a 987 before. My car has the original 18 inch 987 Boxster S wheels as shown below
Love your Cocoa interior. Would be good to see some shots showing the whole car.
