Hi. There's two Black's on Auto Trader.

I think they maybe two cars that aren't on the register.

I don't currently own one, but I am looking around. I'd ideally like a PASM equipped car, and definitely a Manual.

Would should I look out for? Are there any problems or issues specific to the Black?

Thanks in advance.

There is nothing specific to the black editions to consider re maintenance over a standard S.

The first car linked does not disclose its number, there are a couple of Manual, sport chrono, PASM cars it could be from the list or it could be a new entry.

The second car is a new entry:

#402

Manual

Sport Seats

Multi function steering wheel (instead of the sport wheel)

Rear parking sensors, heated seats

None, Bose, Chrono, PASM, full leather

If your looking be careful of the one advertised without the original spyder wheels, they would cost a fortune to replace, one of the lightest / best looking Porsche wheels ever and a sin to remove them from a black edition 😉

Which one is the car without the original wheels please?

No.644 up for sale at J R Motors Coventry. Low spec but very attractive looking. I’m  torn between that and the speed yellow Boxster S that’s also for sale. Decisions decisions.

12 years old and only 5 stamps in the book? Its either due a big service one or its missed one. Guessing at 12 years its due a plug change/major service amongst other items.

Good spot! Yes my very basic understanding of Boxster servicing intervals is every 20,000 miles or 2 years, whichever comes first and a big service at 12 years including gearbox? Intending to visit the garage tomorrow as they now have 3 gen 2 Boxster S cars for sale. Will check the paperwork too.

Arguably it is only 4 services as they have just completed the 5th - wonder if they did the "bog one" or an oil change and a wipe over with an oily rag...

Not sure but JR Motors do have a good reputation and use PorschaWerks to prep all their cars. That being said I expect that the devil will be in the detail (paperwork) and condition of the car.

A new one for the register is currently for sale #408

I've also seen stated but unverified that of the 987 Black Edition Boxsters, 85 where UK RHD. I have noted this on the register which would mean 50% of the cars are known.

If anyone is after a black edition there’s one on autotrader , I nearly looked at it but only part service history. No 724

Something iffy about that advert. Virtually no description and dash clearly shows mileage is 49k, not 43k
