Haha, that’s actually a good name. sMOOth MOOves. After posting I remembered that actually I am a YouTuber. I forgot as I’ve only got a few followers, one of which is my mum. And she died in 2019.

At long last removed the rear lights to remove the green/horrible muck from round the lens edges.

Quick and easy to do with a T-30 and a detailing brush and a bit of water

Thanks, alot cheaper too.  10 quids worth of Chinese mesh from eBay and some elbow grease.  Used half the saving to buy a wind deflector; can't do with the lack of visibility through the oem mesh.

Finally got around to fitting my Cabrioshield cover. The car has to sit outside unfortunately and the local cat likes to sit on the roof and pigeons do their stuff😡. I also want to protect the leather interior from getting too hot in the sun. It’s only a weekend car, so is usually left a week or two between drives.

Dead easy to fit and didn’t even need to read the instructions👍 Secures in boot lid and door shuts with little rubber pieces.

Took my car in for it's 8 year major service to my local OPC.

Got home and checked the oil. It shows just the bottom segemnt as green, leaving three grey segments, not including the over max top segment. Thats underfilled by 1275 ml or circa 2 1/2 pints.

I dont think the brakes have been bled as there is no residual brake fluid inside the nipple. Tested by inserting a cotton earbud stick, came out bone dry. I'd be interested to know how the front brakes were bled without taking the wheel off. I had marked the wheel bolts nearest the valve cap and they were still in the same place.

I was however charged for 2 ltrs of brake fluid which sounds a LOT.

Not convinced the plugs have been changed as the wheel liners (which as far as I know have to be removed to get access to the plugs looked very much undisturbed.

I'll get the car jacked up tomorrow for a better look.

Oh, and I had to add over 2 ltrs of water to the screenwash..

Finally, I seem to have acquired a scratch on my wing.

The problem is like going to a new restuaraunt. If the strter is a bit off, then you doubly scrutinise the main course. If thats substandard, by the time the dessert appears, you are on a mission!

That all sounds very unsatisfactory. Sounds like you weren’t that confident of them in the first place. Presumably this is just to keep the warranty in place. Be interesting to see what the plugs look like. How many miles had they done before the service? Always worth asking for the old bits when booking a service. Helps to keep them honest.

When I bought the car 2 years ago from another dealer in the same group,it was serviced. I wanted to put new bleed nipples in the calipers, but the rears were corroded in. Clearly they had never been touched so in the end they put new rear calipers on.

As a result I’m on the case to ensure that for nearly £1000 pounds I’m getting what I paid for!

Removed the oem mesh and replaced it with the 'Ultimate Wind Deflector' from Made in Garforth so I  can actually see (hopefully!) whether that's the boys in blue following me in the distance!

Cost about half what I saved by making DIY mesh grilles rather than buying Zunsports. Decided I couldn't justify the cost of the full glass from Windschott

What a Sh.t job, one quick attempt , and i was off  to my local P Specialist. It was worth the £200.  My local OPC wanted around £900 to do it.  GOOD LUCK

If those are downpipe bolts, tungsten blade in a recip saw and good luck. If they are manifold, RUN!! Definitely pay the pros!

My local specialist wanted 4 to 5 hours labour with a bit of a wait so I risked it.

All replaced now but discovered a snapped bolt that now needs to be sorted by someone with more skill than me :(

All sounds very fishy. 2 litres of brake fluid is a flush, not just bleeding quantity (although it sounds from what you say neither was done!?) 

When I flushed my brakes last time round I used compressed air and paper to mop up any fluid residue just to be extra careful to not risk any paint damage. Cant really imagine any garage being that diligent.........🤔

If they don't make it up to you they should be named and shamed.
