ATM
Just to update you all the car is being collected by my chosen Porsche specialist so they can begin work. Not sure exactly when but some time this week hopefully. Nothing major to start with just fixing the brakes and then alignment to check if the car is bent. If it isnt bent or too bent then we can start talking about an MOT and body work and maybe some service items although some simple stuff like brake discs I'd prefer to do myself if they are required. Maybe we can start talking about a colour change if there is a lot of the car requiring paint. I'm still not really a fan of black. Lets see what the costs look like first. I'm still trying to do all this on the cheap otherwise it kind of doesn't make sense does it.
ATM
Truck driver arrived today. My Dad was there. They called me and I expressly told him not to drive the car. An hour later my Dad calls me to tell me the car is on the truck and gone. Great I say. Then he says but he did try driving it and smashed it into the wall of house. So front bumper impact. The only part of the car which was basically original and undamaged.

Christ on a bike, not having any luck at all mate. I take it you’ve been on the phone to them raising merry hell?

ATM
Called the garage once I knew which was 3PM. I am still confused why my Dad didn't think to phone me when he saw the car drive into the house. Leaving my Dad out of it if poss. So the garage said they knew nothing about it but would call me once the car arrives and they have spoken to the driver. Still no call which is just making it worse. It's an hour drive at most from where car was to the garage. So I was expecting to hear from them between 4 and 5. Nothing.

ATM
Pressed my dad a bit for more info and he is talking about the bumper needing replacement. I was hoping for maybe a bit of paint damage but it sounds worse.
Scubaregs
I'd be on the phone to them first thing in the morning. They should have called you this evening, even if only to say they were still looking into it.
ATM
I'm trying really hard to find some good news here but its just a long list of bad news. Nothing here has gone well and I'm worried now the situation with the garage has become soured. Struggling to see any positives.
Scubaregs
Feel for you mate. Try and put it out of your mind for tonight, nothing can be done now anyway. Be polite but firm with the garage in the morning. Was it their employee who picked the car up, or was it contracted out?
ATM
No idea. I assume so because the guy had like a covered trailer like you'd transport a race car. Let me upload a pic.

Scubaregs
Talk to them again in the morning, hopefully they will be professional and do the right thing.
Cocky
Great that progress is being made on the car and it is going into a garage, sucks to read that the car transport wen't badly. Hopefully a positive can come out of this and they will rectify and look after you moving forward. It's hard not to but don't overthink it tonight it will just play on your mind, tomorrow is a new day and just see what comes of it. I think black is the best colour. Keep it black and get an orange car cover 😅
topradio
If your luck holds the transporter will have had a crash and totalled the car …………………………... and you find he isn't insured
ATM
Well my contract is with the Porsche Garage not the transporter.

Edit 2 hours later. 2 hours it took to get the car lined up and into the trailer. My Dad is over 70 and he was helping this guy push the car around who turned up alone to trailer a car away which can not be driven. I just dont understand this.

Well he tried blaming me for not being there and leaving him to it. I didn't get into that. He says the wall is fine. So I spoke to the garage at about 10:30. Front bumper impact is just a bit cosmetic but they are going to replace the bumper for me. I am still waiting for some pics of the front bumper as it is now. Garage fixed brakes with temporary pipe to check it all works. Went on alignment machine and once corner I'd replaced was adjusted up everything else was green and nothing else needed adjusting. My guy there used the words bang on. He said to me car is driving and working fine. Great news. Next is for the brake pipe to be replaced with correct Porsche part and then some checks for MOT type stuff. Then they will quote me for bodywork and go from there. I am quite pleased. At least they had some good news for me when we spoke. They have been getting on with it but just not good at getting back to me. I am quite excited. Its only 6 or 7 degrees outside but I can imagine the wind in my hair again.
Scubaregs
Finally some good news mate, about time too. Sounds like they are doing right about the bumper and looks like you've made the right decision re the car. Pleased for you.😀
ATM
Well the quote for bodywork could still come back as a crazy number in which case I'll have to go elsewhere for that. But as least I know the car is sound and my tinkering has paid off.
