Do you find you are getting reflections (in daylight or at night) in the rear view mirror from  the clear deflector?

G

I’ve not driven it at night yet to see what the reflections are like. I can see a fairly minimal reflection of the PDK gearstick during the day but it isn’t too distracting at all.

Went out for a hoon at about 08:00 while the roads were quiet; twisty coast road, up over the moors with log straights and gentle bends, a little stretch of dual carriage way to get the toe down, then cross country back home. Out for about 2 hours and it was lovely!

A couple of gals out walking the dogs nipped over to me as I was stopped at a T-junction and told me how lovely they thought the car was, which was nice.

Gave Sherbie a hose down when I got home....now I need to work up the enthusiasm to polish.

So for those that care about such things, spoiler drive mechanism is £750 , part number 982827204B and requires the rear bumper off to get to.

I suspect the culprit is actually the eBay item below but that has been stripped off a 2nd hand unit, it's not available as a new discrete part

This is what the complete drive mechanism looks like

Yes noticed it seems to be a thing across some 981/718's.

Mine used to sit flush, caught my eye as soon as I got out of the car.

Seen some discussions re height adjust, doesn't seem to be the case re mine.

Yeah tried adjusting mine. It’s as low as it’ll go and still not flush.

Maybe it’ll break and I can get a warranty job done, and drive a 911 for the day! 😁

We need someone to take a faulty one apart to see what goes wrong.

Well, it’s been short but sweet once again. The Boxster GTS 4.0 is heading off to trade-in this Saturday. I’ve LOVED the car - absolutely epic but I need something a bit more practical (2 seater roadster not super practical, shock headline!).

So I’ll have a few bits and bobs that will be up for sale… looks like the Windschott glass deflector, all weather mats, and ZunSport grilles have already been reserved, but I do have a fantastic set of 18” OEM winter wheels and tyres looking for a new home. Give me a shout if you’re interested 😃

So, I bought a 718S. It's a 2017 car that my colleague has had since 2020 so I know the car well and also know it's kept well serviced. It's specced a bit like the later T-versions, it has SC, PTV and SPASM, so go fast -options. Apart from that it doesn't have many options, Bose, rear parking sensons and cruise. Like my previous 987.2, this is also going to be my fun car for the weekends, so this kind of drivers spec works well for me. Power difference from my base 987.2 to this is insane, the turbo just pulls relentlessly.

The weather here is still wintery, I just managed to drive the car to my own carage last week, but it's not really possible to take it out for a drive yet. Maybe next week, easter weekend.

Here is a picture of the car late last year when I went for a test drive with my son:

I gad one for 3 days while my car was being serviced.  The Porsche centre is very “giving” with their loan cars.  Typically they let me have the car for 3 days or more.

They one I had was highly spec’ed and had sports chronos plus and a lot of fun and fast toys.

The pull from low down was breath taking and the world went into a blur when I tried the “maximum sports posture” button.  Suspension and gearbox and throttle immediately went hardcore ans you get a 20 seconds or so of turbo over boost.

I loved it.
