What about a lighter metallic blue.
This is a lovely colour in the flesh, but maybe something a little lighter, more silver/blue

One of Iconic's customers from Belgium has just had theirs done in the classic Porsche light blue, they've also had the interior re-trimmed in tan which looks lovely!

All these suggestions aren't making it any easier 🤣🤣🤣

Only one answer Tim and that's the one you're happy with 👍

Don't know if it helps in anyway but the Porsche Configurator allows you to play with colours

Love the red and blue….. thought I liked the brown but looking again what I like about the brown is the many different shades of brown in the unmixed pot, it’s a red herring on the car it will look like a Austin Princess

Whats not to like about an Austin Princess except everything. Magnificent in their awfulness.

Cracking front brakes.  So good, every Mk1 or Mk2 Escort which doesn't have Wilwoods fitted, has Princess calipers. ;)

Excellent so providing you bought an Escort as well, you'd have a decent car!

My parents had some very cool cars when I was growing up,mk2 cortina 1600E,lots of Jaguar XJ6’s,tons of mk1 and 2 minis,mk2 xr2’s etc but they had some absolutely shocking cars too-the Austin princess stands head and shoulders above everything bad!

I can remember when they were trying to flog the princess some weirdos came round to view it and disappeared for over an hour on a test drive-we were all hoping (parents included!) that they’d stolen it 😂😂

no they came back but luckily they bought it!!

@timbobalobox, is there a build guide available? I built several kit cars before being tempted into Porsche ownership, but your build is definitely tempting me back in!

Cheers

Nothing official I'm afraid - Iconic (who produced the body) just do a supply only, with the overwhelming majority being conversions they do in house, with the donor supplied by the customer.  There's only one other guy who's done the kit themselves as far as I know.

Having said that, the owner of Iconic is immensely helpful and having never done something like this myself before, it's quite straight forward.  It can be very fiddly in places but it's all logical.  The real skill is getting the gaps correct which was a job I left to the painters!

If you were thinking about doing one I can share more images in detail 👍

Only just seen this, yeah sure I can have a go at a mock-up.  I very much like that one above that @Mattman42posted.

I'm more into artwork than photoshopping but can give it a go.  Here's a chocolate and purple-ish version from last year.

I hadn't seen this thread before, will go back to Page 1 for a read-through.  I've built a couple of cars myself, both from the bare chassis up, so this will be interesting.
