Del_tl1000r
Think I might drop in to RM tomorrow and see what he says. Might be better getting someone who actually knows what they're doing than fannying about with it myself!

In my book nuts and bolts are just that and technique and skill for those is not at a high level. Paintwork and bodywork on the other hand are best left to the guys who are doing it day in day out with the right facilities and equipment. You will always be disappointed if you can't miraculosly do it that well at first time of asking.🤔
MickH
Fitted a smile vent to the front bumper. Was really easy with the MRN kit Masked the stencil in place then set about it with a dremel And the end result Edited March 25, 2022 by MickH

Worst pipe stumps to remove are the lower front rubber pipes into plastic distributor. Who knew metal on plastic rust could grip so hard. Final reassembly on hold, as neglected to order the front left and right pipe supports just in case - and the right hand one, numbered 5 in the diagram, was truly rotten, lower bolt 11 into welded nut sheered and will not come out of the nut; and long bolt down through 6, 8 and into 5 was completely seized in, rendering the plastic pipe 8 useless too. Strangely cannot see that bolt on any diagrams, looks like M6 x 55 hex head - OPC are trying to source this and two new pipe supports for Tuesday. Meanwhile, next job is to discover how to get into engine bay to refill... All bolted back together. Refilled coolant system - with the excellent Draper 09544 coolant vacuum refill kit. Had only partially drained front end of the vehicle, no removal of the engine block plug, and yet this tool managed to get everything drained out back in again. No hotspots, painless exercise! some pics - what the pipe ends look like at 12 years old; and the refill set-up.

944GS
Had a go at the headlights today with the Holts restorer kit, they were in a bad way and I don’t think they’re perfect but happy with the results for my first attempt. I dont use mine in the wet but what happens to the water that runs in?
Menoporsche
More fundamentally, does it have any practical function at all? Rads cooling, brake cooling? Or just imitating cars which have?
EVO Chris
I would fit one just for the look, my concerned is its permanent, new bumper to return to original.

First one I seen it done on was a Cayman 987.2. So Id say you will have no issues Water just runs straight through. Its meant to give extra cooling to the radiator. 944GS
Fitted my new flycatcher on the passenger side, the other one disappeared on a drive recently. Prices are a bit crazy for these but I found a ‘Boxter’ version on eBay and had an offer accepted 😀 I don’t actually know what the purpose of these are but it looked odd without it.

944GS
I replaced all the old interior bulbs with nice bright LEDs, easy job and very pleased with the results. I had two issues, the first was with the glovebox, I tried 3 different bulbs in there and had the glovebox holder connected to the footwell so I didn’t blow anything in the glovebox as I know it’s problematic but nothing worked so I’m back to the old bulb which still works. I think I’ve only opened it about 5 times since I bought the car so won’t be spending any more time on it! Second issue is with the frunk, I thought the old bulb wasn’t working but turns out someone has broken it off the reflector so it’s working inside the wing, will need to source a new reflector with the bulb holder attached as this one is beyond repair. I had the same glovebox issue but got it sorted in the end. Just tried another bulb. Really updates the interior, less current drawn and way cooler temperature wise. Easy mod. 👍👍
