Sorry I mean did you bench bleed the master cylinder before fitting it?

No just hooked up the compressor and pressure bleed kit, priming the MC would have speeded things up though.

Booked my car in with Cotswold Porsche for some work :window regulator ,brake fluid change, new rear springs and top mounts ,coolant x over pipes coolant flush and recharge ,long AC pipe and regas and a 4 wheel alignment !! I’ve  had the car couple of years now and not really spent a lot on it as I have done all servicing and brake replacements my self.At least it will be ready if we ever get out of lockdown 🤞

It's a beautiful sunny morning on the south coast. At least car cleaning gets me outdoors, though I'm sure my neighbours think I'm an obsessive.

Just used a clay bar on the windows. The windscreen seems to have many blemishes for a car with such low mileage, but I've got it as clean as I can.

Sun still shining brightly so I've washed & waxed the car too. Lockdown's not so bad. Now wondering if I can get the exhaust tips off to brighten them up. Otherwise I'll do a lesser job while leaving them in place.

The interior no longer smells damp, but I put 2 x 1 kilo silica bags in each day and they still steam every time I take them out of the microwave. They're collecting moisture from somewhere.

Prised the shift gaiter off - Jesus now I know why the trim doesn't rattle - to have a shuftie at where the play is in my shifter. The answer is there's no one place in particular that I can see - little bit here little bit there. I guess I could get it better by adjusting the cables but it's such a faff to get at I think I'll just leave it and put the synthetic in the box when I finally get round to getting it serviced.

I'm such a quitter....

I have the same sized silica gel bags. When I weighed them they had gained 250g each, so had extracted half a litre of water from the interior.

I fixed the left-centre dash air vent. On my first drive back from buying the car I put my usual phone mount there and broke the vane forks.

I bought a £20 Cayman vent from ebay, and then realised when I got it that the surround was black and mine are silver. Luckily the fronts come off easily and I could swap just the fork behind the adjuster.

Two lessons learned.

So today “Pete” 987.1S had....

Gearbox oil change as not mentioned in SH when I bought him

Motul RBF 600 dot 4 changed from Dot 5

Ferrodo DS 2500 front pads

997 GT3 Air ducts for brakes

coming soon...

Baffled sump and some track action when all this cr*p is over...

Question....

Can the car be coded to beep on locking via the remote?
