moospeed
Went for a little drive round the block, first this year!!! A quick wash and fitted a big badge in case anyone wasn't sure what the car was. It'll be all the rage you know... http://imgur.com/a/TIYyszB

daz05
Went to check my PSE valves and of course one of them was a bit stuck! Some penetrating oil and some persuasion with a mallet for a few minutes and all was well. I can't stress enough how important this is folks! Nothing worse than a PSE not meeting expectations after lay up! My old video on the subject is linked here if you need any instruction on how to check them. https://youtu.be/nC4VGnYJ4QM Any questions let me know 👍
T24RES
Changed out the alarm siren, been having some issues lately with false activations. Old unit is the top one, another revision since Daz05 did his video I believe.
daz05
@T24RES that's the same revision as I fitted "F" also the same one that's fitted in my Golf but for some reason wasnt compatible.

Madlil
9 months into ownership and discovered something new today. The roof opens with one touch of the switch when driving - I had always held the switch until the roof was fully down before. It doesn’t do this for closing - probably a safety thing. Perhaps it is about time I read the owners manual 😆 Edited February 21, 2021 by Madlil
Withy
Since the day was dry, I took the opportunity to re-try Snow Foam and gave them a clean. Worked way better this time (now a Karchert pressure washer and better snow foam lance) Foam was thick and slowly removed all the grime. Even dried the cars and used the Graphene Wax that I got ages ago - it went on very easily, and has given a very nice finish. Quite pleased with the results, but knackered now ! MOT tomorrow, hopefully all OK
McDonald
Nice shiny results. I must confess I don't really understand snow foam. I know all the detailers use it, so I'm willing to believe it serves a purpose but I've never felt the need. Useful on rally cars and farm vehicles, I'm sure. As my car is ceramic coated, unless it is really filthy, a rinse/snow foam/rinse leaves it sparkling. I got to the stage where I had to free them up almost every week. They would then work for a day or two before ceasing again. I tried various lubrications solutions but none seemed to work long term. I wonder whether the actuators have some sort of coating/gasket on the plunger that wears off over time?. I had mine replaced under warranty last autumn but otherwise I’d have been investigating these: https://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod141959/Sport-exhaust-vacuum-replacement-unit/

It wasn't the vacuum unit it was definitely the plectrum shaped piece which had some surface rust and tried to attach itself to the exhaust. Can only think the cause is probably that it was put away a little damp underneath after coming back from its service. Maybe worth applying something a bit more permanent on it, you got any ideas? We managed double digit temperatures and sunshine today so was great to get it started up for a short drive today. The noise is glorious, even got the thumbs up from a Noble driver. I apply ceramic grease to mine and move it by hand fairly regularly, although I have used a tin of it so its a bit tricky to get it behind the plectrum part to the hinge. I think a spray version is available, this might do a better job of getting it where its needed?

Right, I’m pretty sure this wasn’t the case with mine and I resorted to spraying lubricant inside the actuator unit, so hopefully in your case it’s easier to keep it loose. Davidbf1.com
@Withy, I find the snow foam Lance easier to work with, with that Karcher wand/extension piece removed.... mind you, I’ve gone to a quick-release short trigger gun now instead. Like that last pic (before the video), it’s very 996/997 C4S - esque. I’ve Captured the Image on ours 👍

Watching my video back I can see moisture coming out behind the plectrum. That will be what is causing it I bet. Starting the car on the drive moisture comes out, you don't drive it and it will stick over time.
