It was worth getting it on stands and wheels off cleaning everything and drilling the discs a 16 year old car near mint condition. It's so rewarding when the tester admires your car, isn't it? They see such a broad range of cars in widely varying condition. They know what they're looking at.

Menoporsche
Just collected it. Brake callipers fully serviced and painted, orange braided hoses, GT3 m/c fitted with Motul 600 fluid. One hard pedal now! And the dirty rear arch protectors removed and replaced with PPF over a broader area. Yes I know the wheel shields are wrong. 987RG
Jacked up the rear yesterday to take a closer look at the brakes and see which pads I need to get. Also, as advised by @½cwt, applied penetrating spray now on the brake pad retaining pin to get it loosened off ahead of when I do the pads. Thanks for the tip Chris, it took about 20 minutes each side to get the pins loosened and now put back for when the parts arrive. Ordered rear Brembo discs, pads and sensors from Auto Doc after extensive (too much) research between the usual parts suppliers on prices which did result in a spreadsheet being created 🤓..... Also, whilst I had the rear wheels off, I removed the arch liners (T20 & 10mm socket) and cleared out all the crud behind there. First time I've done that since I got the car and definitely worth doing (Created a youtube video for this).

The club meets at the hotel next to the casino, but it hasn't been round the track if that's what you mean. Years ago I was told the track wasn't very kind to tyres, not sure if that's changed. I coordinated this pic several years ago, I don't remember if this is mine or one of the other guys. https://cms.porsche-clubs.com/PorscheClubs/pc_portugal/pc_main.nsf/web/19421447B1CBA44CC12578500003034F

Menoporsche
Daughter goes to a private school which has plenty of (multi)millionaires' kids. She doesn't have the latest iPhone or a private pool in the garden, but apparently being seen in this every now and then gives her cred with the best of them

I drove him there in my 13 yr old Mini. So conspicuously not competing with the Astons, Ferraris & Bentleys turned out to be a good thing. In a school debate on inheritance, he stood up & said, "I'm probably the only kid in the room who won't inherit a million pounds. Think about that.' He had a glittering school career.
andygo
My wife and I went to Beford Autodrome to do a trackday. Took my Cayman and her Cooper S. Was so much more adjustable although my Cayman livened up a bit without traction control.

Like when you first have kids. Best advice is “don’t keep a tally of what they cost” if you can afford it and nobody goes without because the car get £x spent then so what. you can’t put a price on “just enjoying having something” and when you can, time to move it on I reckon.
