What have YOU done to your 987 today

The second key I was given when I bought the car had a button missing and I never checked it worked, one button had fallen off but turns out the chip inside had also been removed so it wouldn’t start the car.

New remote section purchased from local OPC for £206 and programmed today for £111 so total cost £317.

Would have been £497 if I didn’t have the working blade!

Jacked the rear of the car up and removed rear wheels to see what my exhaust flange bolts are like(I’ll be fitting a new cat back exhaust shortly)

thankfully all six studs have been replaced with bolts by previous owner

what really really p*ssed me off was that the well known Indy that last worked on my car did all of the wheel nuts super tight with an air gun-unbelievable.

Im amazed I didn’t snap the locking wheel nut.proper shoddy work in my opinion

Make a comment, or go elsewhere.  If they don't respect the car don't respect them.

Replaced door handle lining panel which was badly scratch used soldering iron to remove old panel welds, a 1/4 inch drill would do the job also in hindsight

used 3/16 starlock washers and 1/4 inch deep socket to press washers down on new panel locators which is a very secure locking saves using soldering, glue or screws. Then trimmed flush with dremel

starlocks need to be imperial I had metrics sizes but did not fit

starlocks washers off eBay

Had an MOT yesterday, mot guy was impressed with the condition and said shiny a few times whilst fiddling underneath. He then promptly found a nail in my front left tyre, it passed as I told him it has not lost any air (thanks TPMS for once!) he felt it had not gone through as it was a roof tack. will be investigating that at the weekend...........

Flew through the MOT which maintains its 100% first time pass rate. Major service, spark plugs and brake fluid change completed by my Indie. 12 months road tax purchased. Might have to wait a little while until I fill it up with Momentum.

Had a free new customer inspection done by the local specialist and ordered a new "upgraded" coolant filler cap!
I guess they leak or perish?

The 986 leaked, didn’t know the 987 needed an upgrade. Could perish by now I guess.

Mine went a bit “crunchy” with chalky deposits on and around the threads.  Looks like the seal had compressed over time (and they are a separate part) but I just replaced it.  New one fits much better and feels more positive.

If the part number on your coolant filler doesn't end 04 throw it in the bin and get one that does. Lots of coolant issues you hear about are just the cap. Something to do with the earlier ones not venting properly.

eINuTjS.jpgis there a yt video showing how to do this and where did you get the new ones? I need to do mine because of nail marks. I think the previous owner might have been Edward Scissorhands.
