Winter Sunday morning drive. Found a hay bale tyre hatted snow man B)

Beautiful shot of a fantastic 986 basking, sans roof (good man), in the late winter sun! A contender for the December 2017 BoXa.net calendar methinks?

Thanks @Boxstachimp Are we doing a Calendar?

It was a circa 20 mile B-road roof down blast for the sake of giving it a run for the first time in 2 weeks. Was 9'C, heated seats and blowers on full throttle. Wonderful stuff. Used going to the clothes recycling bin as an excuse to SWMBO.

I have a dozen variations of this photo to choose from if necessary.

I don't think so, but I see some real good shots from people on here, and yours would be perfect for December.

Maybe start a thread in the new year asking for monthly photo submissions, and get people to vote for a favourite each month. Those twelve shots make the BoXa.net 2018 calendar, maybe any profit could go to charity?

I would happily organise that. Leave it with me. I'll discuss with admins the best course of action and use of names/logos etc.

We've done calendars before.  IIRC they were CD case sized desk calendars, as large calendars are prohibitively expensive to post.  It's only @D8EAN that can sanction whether it happens and how, so it's good that you are thinking a year in advance. :)

You gonna miss her! ;)

Absolutely.

Would have been more upsetting to see her not getting used, though.

Tell you what annoyed me today - she was cleaned yesterday for the no-show, but a few weeks ago (when I renovo'd the hood) I spent ages wrapping my hand with sellotape so I could de-cat fur the roof.

I was outside cleaning the garage from 10am ish, then popped in for maybe an hour at around 2 or 3.   In that time, a cat had managed to cover the hood in hair, and the front in hair and muddy prints

Panicked about an oil leak under the car. It seems quite a lot of oil, but is golden in colour. I have booked in with a specialist - Neil Garner in Kemble - for a diagnosis.Looks to be around the gearbox. A few drips in the middle and a couple either side.

Gulp.

my wife has just had some made for family members from photo box, all seem pretty good and not massively expensive.

We could run a poll for the 12 pics, get me the originals sent over and numbers I'm happy to set something up on photo box and just run them off

Sounds like a plan Dean. I was thinking of some company like photo box to create the calendar online easily enough and just have as many as paid for ordered up + a few spares for late comers, with proceeds/profits going to the site or charity.

I'll start a thread with a rough cost/example, and maybe get the ball rolling. Probably too late to do a 2017 calendar now, although I haven't bought one yet and my Porsche one only has a couple of weeks left (obviously haha).

Other forums have done a "photo of the month" thread containing owners cars, then the voted winner of that months poll going into the following years calendar for that month.

Maybe do Decmeber this month, which means in 2017 we can get it printed at the end of November/early December as December's entry will already be chosen.

i had this , turned out it was the infamous rear main seal and whilst in there, it was prudent to do a clutch and intermediate shaft bearing oil seal too.

Collateral damage was a broken o2 sensor in the disassembly stage ..... all got a bit expensive

I buy quite a lot of print, I should be able to get a deal with one of my suppliers when the time comes.

Sorted Fuel Sender out and finished off the 987 Airbox mod, with the 996 plenum and throttle body and stainless manifolds......By Christ!!! It's peppy now!!!!

Will you get the car dyno'd after these mods? In particular to see if the air/fuel mix has adjusted?

Ive been in exactly the same journey and after installing the 996 TB and 987 airbox, the car has been running too rich. Charlie at SRR said it could be putting out 285bhp if the mix was right.

Ive got a non-configureable mapping software on the car at the moment (revo) and after much thought/consultation, I think it might be confusing the maf and ecu, causing them not to learn the new parameters of the new hardware (I retained  the 986 maf housing). The only thing it does is give a sharper throttle response, but the dunno has confirmed it's given no extra bhp or torque.

Anyway, I'm having the revo removed tomorrow and it'll go back to the dyno to see if the ecu has now adapted to the new mods.

Shame they don't have a wide band o2 sensor to test the theory.

Remap is a defo at some point, but negating the extra noise, which can be misleading? However seat of the pants experience and pick up there is a major improvement, and I'm running the 986 MAF. Would be looking for recommended place in the Staffs/ Cheshire region who could do the Remap??
